Budget Restaurant Supply is a family owned and operated local business run by brothers Tom, Jack, and David Chan in Houston, Texas since 1982. It started as a small company to service the neighboring Asian restaurants but has since grown to be one of the largest providers of foodservice equipment and supplies, stainless steel fabrication, and kitchen design services in Texas.
Budget offers foodservice operators hands-on support, market knowledge, industry expertise, huge selection, and competitive pricing. They work closely with their customers, which include independent restaurant operators, local and national restaurant chains, and many other segments, to provide the products and services that will help them operate more efficiently. Budget Restaurant Supply employs a staff of 20 at a 50,000-square-foot showroom and warehouse off the Sam Houston Toll Way in southwest Houston.
Recently, the company was featured in the business section of the Houston Chronicle and has received many awards over the years from Buying Groups, dealers, and manufacturers.
Jack Chan is a principal of Budget Restaurant Supply and has been with the company since it's opening in 1982. He manages the daily operations and is in charge of small wares purchasing. Jack is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the business. His main focus since day one is providing excellent customer service. When not at work, Jack spends time with his family, while enjoying a game of tennis on occasion.
Tom Chan is a principal of Budget Restaurant Supply and has been with the company since giving its name in 1982. He has many long time clients, which have become good friends through the years. Tom is also in charge of the logistics and responsible for shipments incoming and outgoing. Tom enjoys seeing the many familiar faces that have been coming to Budget over the years, while embracing the newcomers. His motto is "treat people how you want to be treated". In his time off, he is an active fisherman and enjoys eating at his clients restaurants.
David Chan is a principal of Budget Restaurant Supply and has been with the company since 1999. As the current President of the company, David has run all aspects of the business. His focus is on new projects from design, equipment selection, to project management. He believes in the simple philosophy of "Do what you say, and Say what you do". David also spends a lot of time working with Vendors and Buying Groups to make sure Budget's customers get the very best products at the best prices. When he is not working, he is spending time with his family and enjoys traveling.
